January 2022 Open Space Report
Malama Hamakua Maui (MHM) had a great cleanup day on the 26th. Some of the attendees:
- Maui Sierra Club volunteers
- MISC – Maui Invasive Species Committee helped out
- Maui Surfrider came
- Councilmember Mike Molina joined in.
Volunteers fanned out in search of refuse and trash, which at this point is getting harder and harder to find, which is a good thing! But we still managed to almost fill a 40′ bin with trash, and another one with recyclable metals.
At the end of the day, MHM board members planted a traditional green ti to welcome visitors to the Open Space; see the image below.
